However you interpret the tips and trends on Style Savvy ~ Spring 2010 to your personal styles and locations, have fun creating your individual look inspired by this seasons unexpected details, rich colors, stunning textures and fabulous jewelry! Spring Color! Spring colors in many eye catching hues such as neon pink, orange, yellow and green are new and fun when paired with not-so-boring beige, as is the soothing shades of amazonite, aquamarine, cobalt blue, indigo, lapis, teal and turquoise. These shades are showing up in shoes, purses, and jewelry as well as clothing. How to wear colors ~ decide if it flatters your skin tones in natural light. If the shade is right, your skin will glow. Different materials of the same color will look completely different. (ie: cotton and silk). Jewelry ~ Layer, Stack and Mix! Necklaces ~ Layer your necklaces for a new look. Mix unexpected textures and combinations such as chains in all sizes and metals (sterling, gold, black bronze) with pearls, stones, and Austrian crystals. Vary the lengths of chains for more depth and variety.
Big and bold statement pieces. When wearing a statement necklace wear with pearl, diamond or other small studs so as not to detract from the necklace.
Bracelets ~ cuff bracelets look great when paired with a dramatic earring. You can create your own look by layering multiple bracelets with varying textures and materials; charm styles continue to big very dominant this spring.
Earrings ~ Chandelier style glam for daytime as well as evening, these can be very ornate or simple.
Hoops in both gold and silver! You can never have too many! Multiple pairs in a few sizes (large, small or rectangle) embellished and/ or simple -they go with any outfit!

Pearls ~ Always chic! The size of the pearls makes a difference. A short strand of pearls can be very ingénue; it can age anyone over 35 unless the pearls themselves are big and gorgeous! The smaller the pearls, the more the strands you need for an impact. For a tailored yet sophisticated look, layer the neckline of a shirt with several graduated strands of pearls. Your silhouette will appear longer and leaner with lots of long strands of pearls and so now mixed with chains for the ultimate look! White, gray or blush pearls will flatter you if you have a cool complexion and creamy, golden or peachy pearls if your complexion is warm. Wear your pearls with any earrings - gold, silver, stone or pearl - they all coordinate and you will look tres chic!
Metallic ~the metallic look continues this spring. Opt for a little shine with a gleaming accessory or two. Subtle is more understated, a clutch, fabulous jewelry, or shoes is all ~ or go all the way with a shimmery dress and a bit of chic metallic glitz in gold, copper or silver! These colors are becoming a wardrobe staple all year!
The White Shirt ~ Classic essential staple of any wardrobe! Treat yourself to a new white shirt when it's not crisp white anymore! Bow ties ~ Sculptural ties are going into spring with soft bows. Wear the bow a little lower than the neckline and pair with a longer necklace. Stunning details in soft fabrics, intriguing textures, ruffles, ruching, high-collared but yet gauzy; tuxedo, baby doll or poet sleeves are also featured.
Menswear ~ Look great when paired with ruffles with no fuss tiers. Updated chic!
Ruffles ~ Fun, frilly and yet sophisticated! Ruffles are showing up on dresses, skirts, tops, sweaters, vests, shoes, and handbags.
Pants ~ soft pant in silks, cotton, cotton-linen blends; a welcome change from denim. Wear below the waist with an unconventional shirt.These can be worn to the office with heels or strappy flats just no sneakers!
Cropped pants ~ find the right amount of volume for your figure and the right length for your height. The most flattering hem "grazes right above the ankle," Eileen Bruckman, design director, Scoop NYC. If you're short or medium height, always wear heels, as cropped trousers can cut the legs short, says Bruckman. Heels help to counteract that effect.
Shoes ~ Gladiators, jellies (refined and updated), wedges, fringe, open toe flats, Oh my! ~ so many fabulous choices and great embellishments! They are fun, functional and fabulous! Look for them in suede, patent leather in classic black and metallic patents, exotic skins, with or without jewels, buckles, bows and more. Dresses ~ Feminine, sleek tailored styles get cinched at the waist, cut-out details; mixing floaty fabrics, delicate pastels - very romantic. More structured dresses ensure added curves where needed. Global prints in all styles and the asymmetrical neckline is very striking.
Jackets and Coats ~ Many choices this season! Long as a tailcoat, short as waistcoat, bright, neutrals belted or buttoned and even with or without a blouse!. Shoulders are prominent, lapels defined. Beautifully tailored, these pull any outfit together. Rich textures, vibrant colors, trench coats, pea coats, cropped, ruffle embellishments, plaid, animal print and sleeve detailing is key.
Scarves ~ Big trend! Ombre coloring (shades of a color from light to dark or color range) look chic when wrapped around multiple times. Scarves are in every color, (ethnic stripes, lush floral), length and material you can imagine and worn everywhere! Pair with long necklaces. Stunning statement floral pins are being shown as well. They look great pinned to blazers, sweaters, belts and more! Contrast the color of your outfit for more impact.
Belts ~ Bejeweled, suede, soft leather, punk rock studded -these are than waist cinchers - they are outfit transformers!
Handbags ~ A fabulous selection of something for everyone and every occasion! Styles are multi-handled with equestrian buckles, in all colors and materials ~ suede, patent, textured leather, geometric patterns, messenger style, ruffles leather, studded; pouchy clutch in satin, pleats, exotic skins and swingy fringe. For evening choose stunning and demure beaded arty motifs.
